The Premiere of ARCHER Season 11 Has Been Delayed

I’ve got some disappointing news for all you Archer fans out there. FX has delayed the premiere of the eleventh season of the series. It was supposed to be released on FXX on May 6th, but now we’ll have to wait until later this year. No new date has been set yet. You can blame COVID-19 for the delay.

FX said in a statement: “Due to production challenges and scheduling issues, season 11 of FXX’s Emmy award-winning animated comedy series Archer will no longer premiere on May 6th. FX will shift the premiere date to later this year.”

So… that sucks. I’ve been looking forward to the return of Archer! It’s ok, though, in the meantime I’ll just keep myself entertained by rewatching episodes of the series!

For the past few seasons, Archer has been in a coma and living through some insanely crazy and hilarious adventures in his head. At the end of Season 10 Archer woke up from the coma, so this next season will find him back in the real world and adjusting to whatever changes have occurred.

Archer executive producer Casey Willis previously said:

“We are incredibly excited for our 11th season and look forward to Archer waking up from his coma and returning to a spy world that has continued without him for the past three years.”

Season 11 will also be the first season to move forward without creator Adam Reed serving as full-time showrunner. He is executive producing the series alongside Willis and Matt Thompson.

The voice cast for Archer will all return for Season 11, and that cast includes H. Jon Benjamin as Sterling Archer, Aisha Tyler as Lana Kane, Jessica Walter as Archer’s mother and spymaster Malory Archer, Judy Greer as Cheryl/Carol Tunt, Chris Parnell as Cyril Figgis, Amber Nash as Pam Poovey, Adam Reed as Ray Gillette, and Lucky Yates as Algernop Krieger.
