THE PROUD FAMILY: LOUDER AND PROUDER Adds Zachary Quinto, EJ Johnson, and Billy Porter to the Cast

Disney is currently working on reviving a Disney Channel classic series, The Proud Family with The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. The series picks up once again following Penny Proud and her family with many of the original actors reprising their roles.

Now, EJ Johnson (Rich Kids of Beverly Hills), Billy Porter (Pose), and Zachary Quinto (Star Trek) have been added to the cast. Johnson will voice the new character Michael Collins described as “Penny's best guy friend who is a non-conforming trendsetter, serving up fierce looks at school and on the basketball court.” Meanwhile, Porter and Quinto will voice Randall and Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins respectively. This couple are the mixed-race adoptive parents to Keke Palmer’s Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins described as a 14-year-old activist.

“The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” will pick up the story of its central character Penny Proud and also include her madcap family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and her grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff!). Of course, it would not be "The Proud Family" without Penny's loyal crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, among others.

Louder and Prouder is slated to release in 2022 on Disney+ with all previous seasons of The Proud Family available on the streaming service now.
