THE PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL Poster Reveals Gritty Return and Premiere Date for Marvel Special Presentation

Marvel Studios is bringing Frank Castle back into the spotlight in a big way, and now we’ve got our first official look at what’s coming.

The debut poster for The Punisher: One Last Kill has dropped along with confirmation of when fans can expect the brutal vigilante to return to the MCU. If you’ve been waiting for Jon Bernthal’s take on Frank Castle to step back into the chaos, it won’t be long now.

The reveal comes just as Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 hits Disney+ today, and Jon Bernthal wasted no time celebrating the moment, posting: "WELCOME. BACK. FRANK." While Frank won’t be crossing paths with Matt Murdock this season, Marvel clearly has a bigger plan in motion.

The Punisher: One Last Kill is set to premiere on May 12 on Disney+, landing on the exact same day as the Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 finale.

The newly released synopsis offers just enough to stir curiosity: "As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight."

That suggests we’re going to see a different side of Castle, or at least a man trying to be something more before getting dragged back into the violence he can’t escape.

The title itself, One Last Kill, is already sparking theories. Especially when you factor in Frank’s confirmed appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day this July. Whether this “last” mission actually sticks is anyone’s guess, but it does sound like Marvel is setting the stage for a shift in how the character fits into the larger MCU.

This special presentation marks Marvel’s third in the format, following Werewolf by Night and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and it looks like it’s leaning hard into the darker tone fans have been hoping for.

Bernthal has been very open about how much this character means to him, saying: "I care very deeply about Frank, I’m really grateful that I’m getting the opportunity to tell the story that I think the fans deserve.

“We’re giving it our all and we’re trying to tell a Frank Castle story that we’re going to turn our back on the audience - it’s not going to be easy, it’s not going to be light, and I think it’s the version that this character deserves and I’m just beyond honored and grateful that we get the opportunity."

He didn’t stop there when teasing the tone, adding: "It’s going to be dark; Frank has no interest in breaking out the darkness. It’s not going to be easy. I don’t know if that’s the Netflix tone then that’s what it’s going to be. It will not be Punisher-lite, I promise you that."

The poster itself reflects that promise, showing a worn-down, battle-scarred Frank who looks like he’s been through hell and is ready to go back for more.

Now all eyes are on Marvel to drop a trailer.
