THE PURGE 3 Is Moving Forward with Director James DeMonaco

Movie The Purge 3 by Joey Paur

The Purge: Anarchy has pulled in $91 million dollars worldwide so far, and Universal Pictures is ready to move forward with a third movie. They've even brought back James DeMonaco to write and possibly direct it. This is the same guy who made the first two movies.

The Purge: Anarchy was a better movie than I expected it to be. It seems like they have a solid franchise on their hands, and as long as the studio keeps making money, they'll keep expanding on the story, which is set in a crazy world where one night a year murdering people has no legal consequence. In a statement, DeMonaco said,

"I never imagined that The Purge would become the phenomenon it has become, and I am thrilled to continue my collaboration with Blumhouse, Sebastien Lemercier, Platinum Dunes and the great team at Universal in building The Purge into a worldwide franchise.”

Although I don't really need to see a Purge sequel get made, if it does, I'll go see it. I know not everyone likes these movies, but I was surprised by how well both of them turned out. Maybe it was because my expectations were so low. If The Purge 3 is just as good as the first two films, then everybody wins.
