THE RAID Star Iko Uwais Joins The New G.I. JOE Film SNAKE EYES

The Raid star Iko Uwais is joining the upcoming G.I. Joe film project Snake Eyes. According to THR, he will take on the role of Hard Master, “Snake Eyes’ tough as nails teacher who is also a skilled sword master.”

I’m a fan of Uwais, the guy is a freakin’ badass and this is a seriously great project for him to be a part of! He joins the previously cast Henry Golding, who is playing Snake Eyes and Andre Koji who is set to play Storm Shadow, “a ninja who is both Snake Eyes’ blood bother and archenemy.”

Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the script, which is said to “center on Snake Eyes seeking revenge for his father’s death by joining the Arashikage Clan, a ninja clan based in Japan. The Arashikage worked as shadowy assassins for generations, using deception to earn their keep as ninjas, as well as developing a reputation for being able to perform impossible tasks. Known as the Young Master, Storm Shadow studied under his uncles, clan leaders Hard Master and Soft Master. Storm Shadow was poised to continue the family business and inherit stewardship of the clan, but Snake Eyes proved to be an amazingly quick study.” Robert Schwentke (Red) will direct.

This latest G.I. Joe film project is going to re-launch the franchise and will be the first of many G.I. Joe films from Paramount Pictures and Hasbro’s AllSpark Pictures.
