The Raunchy 90s Teen Sex Comedy AMERICAN PIE is Getting a Reboot

The classic 1999 teen sex comedy American Pie will be getting the reboot treatment thanks to Insecure actress Sujata Day. She is developing the film as a writer and producer for Universal 1440 Entertainment, which is the same division of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group that was responsible for the production of Rob Zombie's The Munsters.

There are no details on the reboot, but the plot is said to be based on an original pitch from Day, and is being described as a fresh take on the long-running franchise. Day shared on social media: "Obsessed with raunchy comedies and American Pie is one of my all time faves! So excited to be working on this movie."

I enjoyed those original American Pie films when they first came out. Those movies came out at a different time, though. It’ll be interesting to see what Day is planning for her vision of American Pie.
