THE RAY Getting Animated Series on CW Seed, Character Will Be Openly Gay

Ray Terrill, originally introduced in 1940 and known as The Ray, will be the first openly gay hero to get his own animated series. i09 reports The Ray will be getting a series similar to Vixen, and will likely have appearances on the CW hero series.

The Ray wasn't gay until the '90s when he was rebooted by Grant Morrison as a movement to give a more modern depiction of heroes in America. Ray was part of the Freedom Fighters and became an openly gay man.

Because I'm sure you're just as oblivious to the existence of The Ray as I was, he has light-based powers. Basically, he can make himself invisible, blind people, and absorb sunlight to fly and gain energy to project.

Just because I'm familiar with the site and the arguments that often go down around here...let's just remember yesterday you had no idea nor did you care who this hero was, so let's not get in an uproar about the change of a character's sexual orientation that took place over 20 years ago.
