The Release of Marvel's BLACK WIDOW Has Been Delayed Until Further Notice

We all knew this was going to happen, but it’s official. In the wake of multiple theaters shutting down, Disney has announced that Marvel’s highly anticipated summer blockbuster Black Widow will no longer be released on May 1st. The release of the film has been delayed until further notice.

This coronavirus is really screwing things up. A lot of businesses and the employees of those businesses are taking a huge financial hit. It’s really sad and scary to see how this is all playing out.

As for Black Widow, it would be cool to see Disney release it on Disney+ or VOD, and I imagine they’ve had that conversation. Whether or not that’s the direction they’ll take has yet to be seen. I’m sure this is an event that they’ll save for the big screen, which is fine as well. I can wait a few extra months to see Scarlett Johansson kickass as Black Widow again!

Marvel’s spy thriller was directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige. In it, Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as information becomes available.
