The Release of The New James Bond Film NO TIME TO DIE Has Been Pushed Back Due to Coronavirus Outbreak
The release of the upcoming James Bond film No Time to Die has been pushed back due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The film was originally supposed to release internationally on April 2nd and in the U.S. on April 10th. The film will now be released in the U.K. on November 12th, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the U.S. launch on November 25th, 2020.
MGM and EON are hoping that by November the fears of the coronavirus will have died down and the movie theater business will be back at full strength. No Time to Die cost more than $200 million to produce and the studios pump millions more into the marketing. So, the film needs to perform well in international markets if it wants to make a profit.
According to Variety, this move could have “a disruptive effect on the release calendar. Other major tentpole releases may now consider delaying their releases until the coronavirus has been contained. Insiders said that the theater closures are having a huge impact on their bottom line with revenues in places like Hong Kong and Taiwan falling nearly 50% and the box office drying up in Italy.”
It’s crazy to see how the coronavirus is impacting the world and the different ways everyone is reacting to it. When I was in line to vote last night, someone started coughing and everyone started to act weird and you could tell a couple of people were freaking out.
What do you think about No Time To Die being delayed because of coronavirus?
