The Remake of WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP Moves Forward with Jack Harlow Set To Star
A few months ago we learned that Charles Kidd II, known professionally as Calmatic, would be directing a reboot of the 1992 sports comedy White Men Can’t Jump. Well, that film now has an actor attached to it.
Jack Harlow is set to star in the film. Chances are you may never be heard of this guy unless you’re into rap. He’s a rapper from Louisville, Kentucky, and this is his first big acting debut. Harlow will step into the role previously played by Woody Harrelson, and it’s explained that the circumstances behind landing the starring role are exceptional.
It’s explained that he got the lead role “after his first ever screen audition, immediately winning over the filmmakers.” Harlow’s got game too, as evidenced by his play during the recent NBA All-Star Weekend’s Celebrity Game. The filmmakers are now looking to cast his co-star and step in the shoes of Wesley Snipes’ character.
The script for the film comes from Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and Doug Hall. The story follows two street basketball hustlers who at first try to hustle each other, then team up for a bigger score.
What do you think about Harlow being cast in the film? Are you familiar with him?
