The RESIDENT EVIL Film Franchise is Already Getting Rebooted

Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil franchise was set to conclude with Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, but deep down, we all knew that the franchise was going to get rebooted. Variety has confirmed that a reboot is in the works at Constantin Film, who owns the rights to the franchise.

There are no details on what is being planned for the reboot or who will be involved. Anderson and Mila Jovovich have been involved with the development of all six films that have been made in the franchise. There's no word of if they will return for the reboot, but if the production company is looking to do something completely different with the franchise and give it a fresh start, I imagine they will bring on a completely new team of talent, which is something I personally like to see happen. Anderson's films ended up becoming pretty stale movies, so getting some fresh blood in there with a whole new vision is the way to go.

I'm a huge fan the Resident Evil game franchise and I'm currently in the middle of playing the latest game Resident Evil: Biohazard, which I think would be the way to go for a news series of films! Biohazard has been a fun and terrifying gaming experience, and it could make for a wonderfully nightmarish film. Biohazard just seems like it would be the next logical step to take the film franchise without retelling the story that's already been told.

What would you like to see from a new series of Resident Evil films?
