The RESIDENT EVIL Reboot Will Be Helmed By 47 METERS DOWN Director Johannes Roberts

In case you haven’t heard, or you forgot, the Resident Evil film franchise is being rebooted by Constantine Film, and they have hired a writer and director to take it on.

According to Variety, the reboot will be helmed by 47 Meters Down director Johannes Roberts. Seems like a decent choice. I enjoyed 47 Meters Down, and it will be interesting to see the franchise from a whole new perspective.

There are no details on how the reboot will be handled, but it would be interesting to see if it ends up adapting one of the many stories told in the games. I personally wouldn’t mind seeing an adaptation of Resident Evil: Biohazard. That was a great game in the franchise with a creepy-ass setting.

There are a lot of different directions that the creative team could take this franchise. It will be interesting to see what one they take for this reboot. In the meantime, what would you like to see with this reboot?

The reboot is expected to start production in 2019 with a whole new cast.
