THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES Gets a Season 3 Renewal at HBO

Good news has been delivered for fans of the HBO series The Righteous Gemstones. The dark comedy series has been renewed for a third season at the streamer. The news comes just weeks after the second season premiered, which is due to air its finale on February 27th on the premium cabler. Season 3 rumors have been swirling since last October after executive producer David Gordon Green said in an interview that the renewal was happening, but HBO didn’t make the official announcement until now.

The series follows the famed televangelist Gemstone family as they climb the Christian ladder, kicking off anyone who gets in their way. This season, they are going up against foes from their past, as well as new adversaries who are looking to take down their empire.

Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming, said of the renewal:

“After a season of literal fire and brimstone, blood, sand, and rollerblading, who wouldn’t come back for more? The Gemstone family makes us laugh like nobody else.”

The series stars Danny McBride, who created the series and executive produces, as well as Adam Devine, Edi Patterson, John Goodman, Cassidy Freeman, Tony Cavalero, Tim Baltz, Skyler Gisondo, Greg Alan Williams, Walton Goggins, Jennifer Nettles, Jody Hill, Valyn Hall, Kelton DuMont, Gavin Munn, Jason Schwartzman, Eric Roberts, Eric Andre, and Jessica Lowe.

I love this over-the-top show, and I am so excited to see it continue. Watch the rest of Season 2 on Sundays on HBO and HBO Max.
