The Russo Bros. Confirm That The Hulk's Damage in AVENGERS: ENDGAME is Permanent
If you saw Avengers: Endgame, you know that there were a lot of changes to several characters. Some heroes died, while the stories of others were set on a new story trajectory, and then there were some who were injured.
One of the characters that was majorly injured in the film was Hulk. If you haven’t seen the movie yet…
Near the end of the film after the Avengers return to their timeline with the Infinity Stones, Hulk puts on the Gauntlet that Tony Stark made and snaps his fingers to bring everyone that was dusted back.
After he did this, you saw the physical damage that was done to him. He was burned up pretty bad, but there was probably lots of other damage inflicted on him as well. Maybe to nerve damage. Whatever the damage is, director’s Joe and Anthony Russo confirm that it is permanent. The Hulk will never be the same, he will have to move forward dealing with this damage.
While talking to CB, Joe Russo said:
“He’s lost an arm. He lost Natasha. That’s not coming back. He’s damaged himself. I don’t know. It’s interesting. That’s permanent damage, the same way that it was permanent damage with Thanos. It’s irreversible damage. His arm, if you noticed, is a lot skinnier. It’s blackened. So, he loses a lot of strength there.”
I like that Joe pointed out not only the physical harm to Hulk, but the emotional harm as well. Losing Natasha was a huge blow for him.
It’s going to be really interesting to see what Marvel does with Hulk moving forward. When will be the next time that we see him up on the big screen!? That’s what I want to know! Where will his story go from here?
What do you want to see from Hulk in the future of the MCU?
