The Russo Bros. Confirm They Are Done Making Movies For Marvel... For Now

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have been making Marvel movies since they signed on to helm Captain America: The Winter Solider. From there they went on to bring us Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame. They left quite an awesome legacy of Marvel movies behind them and have accomplished some incredible things with this franchise, things that I never thought I’d see.

Well, as expected, they are moving on in their careers. As Marvel Studios ushers in a new era of films, the Russos will not be joining them on their journey, at least not for a long while. When talking to Games Radar, Anthony Russo confirmed that Endgame is their Endgame:

"It’s our Endgame, at least for now. We don’t have any plans for now to make any more Marvel movies. It certainly may come up in the future at some point. We have a wonderful working relationship with [Marvel Studios] and a great passion for what they’re doing."

The Russos did previously say that they would come back when Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige decide they want to move forward with and adaptation of Secret Wars. After seeing Endgame, they seem like they are the only directors that could effectively pull of something like Secret Wars. It’ll be a long while before that happens, though. Hell, it could be another 10 years before it happens!

The Russo Bros. recently signed a deal with MGM and they are developing a lot of projects over there. Some of their upcoming films include Cherry with Tom Holland, The Thomas Crown Affair, and The Rats of Nimh.

It’s sad that we won’t be seeing the Russos make any more Marvel films for a while, but I am looking forward to seeing the other film projects that they end up developing for us!
