The Russo Brothers Say The End of AVENGERS 4 Will Have "A Big Game Changer"

Avengers: Infinity War has left us all wondering WTF after one of the biggest cliffhangers in the entire MCU. But we should probably start preparing now emotionally for the concluding chapter of Phase 3. That's because the directors of Avengers: Infinity War recently revealed that they're planning a game changer for the end of the untitled project currently being called Avengers 4.

During an interview on Sway's Universe on Sirius XM, Joe and Anthony Russo were asked about the next film and how much Thanos' epic finger snap will impact the movies going forward. Anthony said, "It's hard to talk about because it's so specific to the ending, what he's talking about." Joe added:

"We will say this, obviously Thanos is a very formidable villain and to beat Thanos will come at a very high cost. We're committed to stakes, we believe in stakes, and we like to shake up the Marvel Universe. We had a big game-changer at the end of Winter Soldier, had a big game-changer at the end of Civil War, a big game-changer at the end of Infinity War. Obviously, there will be a big game changer at the end of Avengers 4."

Those are some pretty interesting things to hear the Russo's talk about, but just how big will this "game changer" be? They talk about believing in stakes and Thanos wiping out half the population certainly took out some major characters who have tons of potential in Marvel Studios' future. For example, Spider-Man is already getting another movie, and Black Panther was so successful it seems pretty obvious that they will be back by the end of Avengers 4.

The "game changer" that Joe Russo mentions could easily be a sacrifice or death of one or several of our beloved Avengers. Which makes sense because some of Marvel's major players are ending their contractual obligations with Marvel Studios. This could be the real end of Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America. But we will have to wait a year before we really know what Russo is referring to.

Avengers: Infinity War is now playing in theaters.
