The Russo Brothers Share Their Very Obvious Favorite Character Arc in the MCU
Avengers: Endgame is almost upon us. The film marks the fourth film from the MCU that brothers Anthony and Joe Russo have helmed as directors, with the first being Captain America: The Winter Soldier. When asked what their favorite arc from the MCU has been, the answer was an obvious one: Captain America. Joe told CinemaBlend:
“Cap obviously because we spent so much time with him. And he has gone on a very extreme journey, from First Avenger to Infinity War. He went from a patriot to an insurgent, that’s a very complicated arc.”
The Captain America films have been pretty fantastic with their storytelling, so I wouldn’t doubt it if a lot of Marvel fans felt the same. That being said, there’s a lot of bias as the Russos have helmed two of the three Captain America films. Anthony also told CinemaBlend:
“I would have to say Cap. It’s just, we’ve been so focused on that character. He was our access point to the MCU as storytellers. Having been born, and grown up, and come of age during World War II. Having that all torn away from you, and waking up 70 years later. It’s a really profound journey that character’s been on. A lot of hardship. And a lot of nobility in his heart. And we’ve had a lot of fun trying to figure that character out over the years.”
