The Screenwriter of The KRAVEN THE HUNTER Movie Says Kraven will Face Off with Spider-Man

I don’t know if Kraven The Hunter screenwriter Richard Wenk got the memo about Spider-Man and the deal between Marvel and Sony, but it seems like he plans on including Spider-Man in the story he’s writing for the Kraven movie.

It’s been made very clear several times that Spider-Man is not a part of the Marvel universe that Sony Pictures is building with the Spider-Man villains. But in a recent interview with Discussing Film, Wenk claims that Sergei Kravinoff a.k.a. Kraven the Hunter, will “come face-to-face with Spider-Man.”

“I’m just starting it. It’s an interesting world. A great character. It’s going to adhere very closely to the lore of Kraven the Hunter. And he is going to come face to face with Spider-Man. I’m just beginning it, beginning the process, and because it’s a big IP, Marvel world, there’s lots of hurdles to overcome before you can start writing, to crack the right story and to get the right tone. It’s a new world for me. But what’s nice about it is it’s a very grounded character, he doesn’t have a lot of crazy superpowers and things like that so he’s more grounded and that fits what I like to do. That’s as much as I know.”

The writer also confirmed that the film would be influenced by the classic storyline “Kraven’s Last Hunt”. Hey, if Spider-Man and Kraven are going to be in this movie together… awesome! That would be amazing! I would love nothing more than to see these two characters face off on the big screen! In my mind, a Kraven story without Spider-Man just wouldn’t work.

What if this Kraven the Hunter film actually ends up being the third standalone Spider-Man movie? That would be a cool surprise! Or maybe Kraven the Hunter will be the first movie to bring Spider-Man back to Sony. We’ll just have to wait and see. Either way, I hope that we do get to see Kraven and Spider-Man battle each other in this movie!

Kraven's Last Hunt was written by J. M. DeMatteis, first published in 1897, and is one of the best Spider-Man stories that has been created. It tells the story of Spider-Man's final battle with Kraven The Hunter. It's obviously a must-read for any Spider-Man fan.

Kraven the Hunter has stalked and killed every animal known to man. But there is one beast that has eluded him. One quarry that has mocked him at every turn: the wall-crawling web-slinger known as Spider-Man. And to prove that he is the hero's master, he will pull on his costume and become him... after he shoots and buries him six feet under!

What do you think about this? It this wishful thinking for the writer or do you think the plan is to really have Spider-Man and Kraven come face to face in the movie?
