The Script For The Joker Origin Film is Already Almost Done!

It was only about a month ago that we learned Warner Bros. was developing a Joker origin solo film with producer Martin Scorsese and director Todd Phillips. Well, the studio has obviously put the project on the fast track to production because the script for the movie is already almost complete! According to Variety's Justin Kroll, a first draft of the script will be turned into the studio next week! Here's the tweet he shared with the news:

That is super fast! Hopefully, the script is good! It was previously revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio was wanted for the role of The Joker, which is a casting choice a lot of fans seem to be getting behind. I'd actually love to see him get the part. It's probably a better choice than Jared Leto.

There's no official information on what the story for the film would entail, but it was previously rumored that it would be a "super dark and real" film, parts of which might focus on The Joker as a kid. It's also been described as a "gritty and grounded hard-boiled crime film set in early-’80s Gotham City."

The studio is hoping to start shooting the film in 2018.
