The Sequel to THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: BREATH OF THE WILD Delayed Until Spring 2023
Fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have been waiting for any news regarding the sequel that was announced back in 2019. Since the original announcement, we’ve seen teasers showing off a sky world that is very reminiscent of Skyloft from Skyward Sword and it was revealed to release in 2022. Well, Nintendo has provided fans with a new update that many aren’t going to like. Eiji Aonuma, producer for the Legend of Zelda series, shared the bittersweet news that the team has delayed the release of the game to Spring 2023.
I say this is bittersweet because on the one hand it means we have to wait longer for the game to release while on the other, we’ll get a more polished game in the end. There are going to be people who complain about this or that no matter what, but I’d rather they only have 100 things to complain about than 200. I personally am glad that they’re telling us about this update and that they provided a new release window unlike another certain game in a big Nintendo franchise that shall go unnamed (to be fair, that game started over from scratch reportedly). If it means that the game is more polished and plays better, I’m all for it. I don’t want to wait, but it’s easier for me since I’ve seen how rushed games are always looked down upon and treated mercilessly.
I’m still very excited for the sequel to Breath of the Wild and cannot wait to play in Spring 2023.
