The Special Olympic Athlete Sarah Dalton Guest Stars in Tomorrow's POWER RANGERS DINO FURY

Tomorrow morning, Power Rangers Dino Fury fans will be able to tune in for a special episode. Airing on March 27 at 8 AM ET/PT on Nickelodeon, “Winning Attitude” has Izzy (Tessa Rao) determined to win a big race. What really makes the episode special though is that Izzy is helped by her Special Olympics athlete cousin, Lily (Sarah Dalton). For the casting of Lily, Hasbro went the extra mile and actually cast a Special Olympics New Zealand Equestrian athlete. That’s pretty awesome.

In the episode, Dino Fury Green Ranger Izzy is determined to win a big race with the help of her Special Olympics athlete cousin, Lily. After Lily misses a training session and Izzy rejects more help, her sportsmanship is put to the test. The episode teaches viewers that winning isn’t everything and sometimes helping people is more important.

Talking about casting Dalton, Simon Bennet said:

When casting Lily, we wanted to make sure this person A) was a Special Olympics athlete and B) had a positive spirit and attitude complementing the qualities of our main cast. Sarah certainly met those requirements, and she has been fantastic to work with. Featuring diverse characters has always been a vital part of the Power Rangers story. We’re thrilled to have Sarah join the Power Rangers family.

Dalton shared her experience working on Dino Fury as well:

Working on Power Rangers Dino Fury was the opportunity of a lifetime, and I’m so grateful. Right from day one, the production team, the crew and the cast were so welcoming and kind. Everyone was so professional and worked so hard, [and it was] mixed with lots of laughter and fun. I had a good time and loved doing it

Dipak Natali of Special Olympics Asia Pacific added:

People with intellectual disabilities are told their whole lives what they cannot do and as a result they face a norm of exclusion and low expectation. Special Olympics gives them an opportunity to shatter those stereotypes. Sarah’s appearance on “Power Rangers Dino Fury” is not only a great example of her talent beyond the sports field but represents so much of what inclusion should mean for young people today,
