The SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Writers are Coming Back For the Sequel
If you were happy with Spider-Man: Homecoming and the way that the script turned out, you'll be happy to learn that two of the writers who worked on the script for the film are coming back to write the sequel for director Jon Watts.
Those writers are Chris Mckenna and Erik Sommers. They joined the joined the first film to work on an early draft of the script that was written by Watts, Jonathan Goldstein, and John Francis Daley. Watt's will co-write the film with Mckenna and Sommers. I'm not sure why the other two writers aren't coming back, but I'd like to think that they are busy writing other projects because they did a great job with Homecoming!
McKenna and Sommers also worked on The Lego Batman Movie, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
They're obviously no story details for the sequel at this time, but it will be the first film in the MCU to be released after Avengers 4 brings an end to Phase 3 of Marvel's master plan.
Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 hits theaters on July 5, 2019.
