The SpongeBob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge has added Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians, Ocean’s 8) and Reggie Watts (Pitch Perfect 2, Tuca & Bertie) to its cast of voice actors, with the old gang of voice actors from the series and previous movie having already signed on to voice the characters. On top of that, Cyndi Lauper is writing original songs for the film.

The film has been described as a “love letter to SpongeBob’s beloved creator Stephen Hillenburg (who died last November), the fans, and the residents of Bikini Bottom.”

It sounds like fans will not be disappointed! The cast and talent behind this movie is really shaping up. I know my kids are going to be excited about it. The SpongeBob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge is set to make a splash in theaters on May 22, 2020. Are you excited?
