The STRANGER THINGS Horror Will Be "Up-Close and Personal" in Season 2 and The Monster is "Horrifying"

Some intriguing new details have surfaced regarding Stranger Things Season 2 and the kinds of horrors that we'll see in it. The stuff that the cast and crew have been saying definitely has me excited!

The monsters are going to be more prominent in Season 2. TV Line got some quotes from the Duffer Bros. saying, “Last season, a lot of the horror and a lot of what was happening with Will was off-screen in the Upside Down. That’s not the case [in season two]. The horror is more up-close and personal.”

Mike actor Finn Wolfhard added, “Something happens to Will in the first couple of episodes that’s very, very disturbing. Scarier stuff happens."

Now, even though lots of scarier stuff is going to happen, it doesn't mean they aren't going to build the suspense. In an interview with Variety, Ross Duffer talked about how they will use some of these scare tactics, explaining, “Hiding the monsters can be more effective than seeing them, so restraint can be a good thing." It's that whole Jaws effect, and I love that. Of course, in the end, we know they are going to show the monsters! Hell, they teased a huge monster in the first trailer that was released!

When those monsters are shown, it sounds like they won't disappoint. In another interview with TV Guide, Wolfhard said, “The Shadow Monster, the new one, the big one in the sky, that was crazy for us.” Noah Schnapp, who plays Will in the series called the monster "horrifying" and Caleb McLaughlin, the actor who plays Lucas, put it all into perspective when he said, "My reaction was like, 'Whooooooooa.'

Stranger Things Season 2 premieres on Halloween!
