The Stunning BLADE RUNNER 2049 Anime Short Film BLACK OUT 2022 Has Been Released!
The final Blade Runner 2049 short film has been released and you're gonna love it! It's a beautifully made action-packed anime short called Blade Runner: Black Out 2022. It was created by Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe.
This series of shorts fills us in on some of the key events that happen between the events of the original film set in 2019 and the upcoming sequel set in 2049. This one is set in 2022 and tells the story of a brief replicant rebellion. This uprising resulted in the replicants production being banned for a decade.
The tensions between humans and replicants reached a boiling point when humans began to hunt replicants down using the Replicant Registry so they could kill them. We get to see the intensity of this in the short. To get back at them, a sympathetic human named Ren teams up with Trixie, and a few other replicants to cause a black out in the city of Los Angeles "like the humans had never seen."
