THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE Description Seems to Reveal Major Character Spoiler

Fans are excited about the next chapter in Mario Bros. saga, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Like the Marvel and Sonic franchise movies that have come before, The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) gave viewers a post-credits scene teasing a fan-favorite character to look forward to in the next film. But if this new info proves to be true, Yoshi won’t be the only newcomer to the Mario Cinematic Universe.

IGN reports that the UK-based luxury cinema chain Everyman has posted a new description of the movie that leaves no room for ambiguity:

"After defeating Bowser and saving Brooklyn, Mario faces Wario and Bowser Jr.'s evil alliance. Now, alongside his friends and Yoshi, he must stop their plans for world domination."

That’s right, Wario! Jack Black, who voices Bowser in the films, has previously expressed that he would cast actor Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, The Fantastic Four) to star as Mario's nemesis, but it remains to be seen if the studio agrees.

The movie details from the theatre chain above has since changed its description of the film, so this news comes from someone who saw it and grabbed that quote above to share.

It’s not an announcement, and it can’t be confirmed at this time, so take it with a grain of salt. It would be cool to see Wario included though!

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be released in theaters on April 3, 2026.
