The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square to Release New Album of Movie Songs Including STAR WARS and AVENGERS

Everyone was celebrating Star Wars Day this week! The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square (previously called the Mormon Tabernacle Choir) released a new rendition of “Duel of the Fates” from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and it is set to be part of a 5-track EP being released that will feature other hit songs from films.

The other songs include “Main on End” from Avengers: Endgame, “I’ll Fly Away” featured in O Brother, Where Art Thou?, “When You Believe” from the classic The Prince of Egypt, and “Eatnemen Vuelie (Song of the Earth)” which technically isn’t from a film, but it is a piece of traditional Nordic music that reportedly served as inspiration for “Frozen Heart” from Frozen.

The album is called When You Believe: A Night at the Movies and choir director Mack Wilberg released the following statement in regards to the album:

The choir and orchestra have a longstanding tradition of performing inspirational music from the Broadway stage and the movies. We hope to showcase the power of this music to inspire and to encourage us. The title ‘When You Believe’ captures that concept of building faith and shows why it was fitting for the choir and orchestra to record this music. This music can touch our souls in a very unique way.

You’ll be able to stream, buy, and download your copy of When You Believe on May 22 on Spotify, Amazon, Apple Music, and anywhere else you buy music.
