THE TERMINAL LIST Season 2 Trailer Sends Chris Pratt on a Deadly Global Mission
James Reece has spent enough time looking over his shoulder. Chris Pratt is back in action in the first trailer for The Terminal List Season 2, and this time his Navy SEAL Commander is taking the fight around the world.
I loved the first season of The Terminal List. It was intense, brutal, and packed with the kind of tactical action that made the series so satisfying to watch. Chris Pratt was great in the role, and I loved seeing him tap into a darker, more dangerous side of his performance.
The eight-episode second season picks up Reece’s story following the violent events of Season 1. Based on Jack Carr’s second novel, True Believer, the new season finds Reece searching for some kind of purpose after completing his list and getting his revenge.
While the first season played primarily as a psychological revenge thriller, Season 2 is going much bigger with a globe-trotting espionage story. Reece’s new mission takes him across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe as he gets pulled into another dangerous conspiracy.
This one stretches from Moscow to Langley and, making things even more personal for Reece, connects to his own family history.
Several familiar faces are returning for the mission, including Tom Hopper as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu as Katie Buranek, Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry. Gabriel Luna joins the series as Freddy Strain.
Season 2 is also bringing in Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Martin Sensmeier, Arnold Vosloo, Jeremy Bobb, and Shiraz Tzarfati.
Pratt sounds especially proud of what the team managed to pull off with the new season and how it represents the special operations community.
“This season is a love letter to the special operations community,” Pratt shared. “I’m incredibly proud of the journey we went on and what we were able to put on screen.
“It was a monumental effort by a lot of people over the course of many years, and I think you can feel that commitment in every frame. Yes, it’s an action thriller, but there’s also real beauty and poetry in it.”
He continued, “At its heart, this season is dedicated to the men and women who do this work—the people who operate in the shadows, make extraordinary sacrifices, and rarely ask for recognition. We wanted to honor them and get it right. I couldn’t be more proud of what we made.”
Carr’s The Terminal List novels already gave the series plenty of material to expand beyond Reece’s original revenge mission, and adapting True Believer opens the door to a much larger world. Reece is dealing with an international conspiracy while trying to figure out what comes after revenge.
With Season 2 expanding the story into a globe-trotting espionage thriller, I’m excited to see where Reece’s mission takes him next. If the new season delivers the same hard-hitting action and intensity while opening up the world in a bigger way, we should be in for one hell of a ride.
