The Title of DIE HARD 6 Has Been Revealed
Die Hard 6 has been referred to as Die Hard: Year One for a while now, but that is not the title of the movie. The title of the film was recently revealed by Empire Magazine. They have reported that Len Wiseman's script for the film has been turned in and that the title of it is simply... McClane.
It's a simple yet effective title and I have no problems with it. We know that the story for the film will be set in 1979 when McClane was fighting crime as a New York City cop and in the present day. It will show how he "became a die hard kind of guy." Bruce Willis is set to reprise his role. The movie will also jump back and forth between the past and the present.
While talking to Empire, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura talked about the film and the title, saying:
"You can tell our intention by the fact that the title page we handed in says, ‘McCLANE’. We want you to get invested in John McClane more than ever before."
When addressing the jumping between the two different eras of John McClane, di Bonaventura explained that each era will be explored equally:
"I don’t know how you do Die Hard without Bruce. The idea that he’s not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version."
Wiseman is set to direct the film and according to this recent report, it will start shooting soon in the coming months.
I like what I've been hearing about this next chapter of Die Hard and I hope that it turns out great! I love the first three films in the franchise the most. I haven't really cared for the others, but maybe this next film will harness the awesomeness of the original earlier films and give fans something badass.
What do you think about the title of the film?
