The Trailer For The Andy Samberg HBO Mockumentary TOUR DE PHARMACY Looks Hilarious

I am a huge fan of Mockumentaries. Some of my favorite filmmakers are well known for starting their careers as Mockumentary directors. Now HBO is making a habit of creating their own series of them.

A couple years ago, HBO produced a Tennis Mockumentary called 7 Days in Hell starring Andy Samberg and Kit Harrington. The production was a success, so HBO is at it again with a series called Tour De Pharmacy parodying the Tour de France that takes place and the doping that often takes place.

In 1982, during a dark and fictitious time in cycling history, the sport’s most venerable, time-honored race was marred by the doping of virtually all of its competitors. Riddled with nefarious characters, that year’s competition was a hornet’s nest of moral depravity. Through the perspective of five riders, TOUR DE PHARMACY gives an inside look into the grim realities of the darkest event in a sport notoriously tainted by controversy.

The movie stars Andy Samberg, but that's not all. This mockumentary has an all-star cast of brilliant actors including John Cena, Freddie Highmore, Daveed Diggs, Orlando Bloom, Jeff Goldblum, Danny Glover, Dolph Lundgren, Julia Ormond, James Marsden, Kevin Bacon, Nathan Fielder, Will Forte, Maya Rudolph, Joe Buck, Mike Tyson, J.J. Abrams, Phylicia Rashad, Chris Webber and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. There is even an appearance from an "anonymous source" (it's Lance Armstrong).

We have a trailer for you to watch for it today and it looks amazing. Check it out below. It's set to premiere on HBO on July 8th at 10pm ET/PT.
