The Trend of COMMUNITY Cameos in Marvel Movies Will Continue in AVENGERS Sequels

As many of you already know, before Joe and Anthony Russo got involved with directing Marvel movies, they were directing episodes of the TV series Community. One of the fun things that they’ve done for Community fans with these Marvel films is feature cameos of actors from the series in the movies they’ve made.

In Captain America: The Winter Solider, Danny Pudi played a S.H.I.E.L.D. communications tech and in Civil War, Jim Rash played an MIT liaison. During an interview with CinemaBlend, Joe Russo was asked if the trend of Community cameos will continue in the upcoming Avengers sequels and this is what he told them:

“We're literally in that phase of the pre-production where we start thinking about those kinds of things, and right now we're looking for the right part to see who's a match for the next cameo.”

Russo was then pressed for a solid confirmation that there will be another Community cameo and he said:

“Yeah, absolutely. We've got to keep the streak going.”

So as long as the Russo Bros. continue to make Marvel movies, it seems like we’ll continue to see Community actors make cameos. I should probably point out that Donald Glover has landed an actual role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is being directed by Jon Watts. We aren’t sure who exactly he’s playing, but since he is going to be a part of the MCU, I guess there’s a chance that he could reprise that role in one of the Russo movies somewhere down the line. I should probably also mention that Brie Larson, who is playing Captain Marvel in the MCU, also played a recurring role in a few episodes of Community. She’ll definitely be in the Avengers sequels.

Some of the other main actors that could potentially make an appearance in these Avengers films could include Joel McHale, Allison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Chevy Chase, and Yvette Nicole Brown. I'm sure they'll find a fun little role for one of them to play.
