The Twisted Marionette Returns to GUILD WARS 2 Next Week
Back in 2014, Guild Wars 2 players faced the Twisted Marionette world boss in Living World Season 1. Now, the boss is coming back to the game alongside the Legendary Armory on July 13. The Marionette has been lying as scrap in False River Valley since its defeat, but soon players will be able to enjoy the fight (with some adjustments to meet current design standards) via the scrying pool in the Eye of the North. Here’s a very brief history of the Marionette:
Shortly before she launched her war on Lion’s Arch, Scarlet used Lornar’s Pass as a testing ground for her colossal watchwork superweapon, the Twisted Marionette. An army of heroes organized a multi-pronged assault strategy, destroying Scarlet’s forces, surviving the Marionette’s attacks, and severing the chains tethering it to The Breachmaker.
The Legendary Armory is a new way that Guild Wars 2 will be handling Legendary gear. Once you unlock a Legendary piece of gear, any of your characters will be able to access it with the Legendary Armory via the equipment tab in the hero panel. This should free up some valuable inventory slots (and even more valuable shared inventory slots) for many players. Also, there is no more transmutation cost for the Legendary equipment. You can read more about it on the official blog.
Both of the above updates launch on July 13 and will be available for free to all players.
