The UNCHARTED Movie's Actor Shortlist For Sully Includes Chris Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Chris Pine and More

Sony’s feature film adaptation of Uncharted is moving into the casting phase and director Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) is looking to cast the role of Nathan Drake’s mentor, Victor "Sully" Sullivan.

Thanks to That Hashtag Show, we have the shortlist of actors that are up for the role. While we were all hoping that Bryan Cranston would take on the role, unfortunately, that doesn’t seem like it’s going to be the case.

The studio is said to be looking for actors between the ages of 40 and 49 and they are currently looking at Chris Hemsworth, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Pine, and Woody Harrelson. Out of all those choices, I’d have to go with Harrelson. He seems like the best fit for the role out of that list.

Obviously, the reason why they are going with a younger version of the character is because the Uncharted film will focus on a young version of Nathan Drake, who is being played by Tom Holland. Here’s a description of Sully that was provided by the studio:

"Rugged and handsome, equal parts refinement and contagious charm, Sully is the kind of guy who turns heads when he walks into the room. Sully is a highly skilled career criminal – he knows how to read a room quickly and impressively, and nothing gets past him. He becomes Nate’s mentor and teaches him everything he knows, helping mold him from a small-time pickpocket into a skilled thief. Sully has a fun banter with Nate, and though at moments he feels like a father figure to him, in truth he is self-interested above all else. Sully does care for Nate, and goes against his instincts to save him in the end.”

Other than Sully, the other two female leads that need to be cast are Drake's love interests Elena Fisher and Chloe Frazer.

The story for the film is said to take place “when Nathan Drake (who’s the lead of that game) and Sully, I guess you’d call him his surrogate father, were much younger. It’s an origin story that evolves out of the game but is not from the game."

Which of the actors listed here do you think should be cast in the role of Sully?
