Marvel and Sony's Spider-Man Sequel Is Titled SPIDER-MAN: PHONE HOME and HOME-WRECKER?

There are a couple of titles that have been revealed for Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man 3. The first was shared by Tom Holland and it’s Spider-Man: Phone Home. The first thought to pop in my head when I saw the title was the quote of Steven Spielberg’s ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, with E.T.’s iconic “Phone Home” line.

I assume Marvel and Sony meant this to be an E.T. reference, but I guess we’ll eventually find out. All of the titles for these Spider-Man films have included the word “Home”, so they are sticking with that theme. Holland shared the title on Instagram with a photo from the film and the following note:

“So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. Can’t wait for you lot to see what we have been up to. Love from Atlanta.”

That’s not all though! Right after I initially posted the article another title popped up from Spider-Man star Jacob Batalon giving us an alternate title of Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker! Multiple titles!? Which one is real!? Are any of them real? Are these titles from a multiverse!? Marvel and their silly games!

Marvel is obviously having some fun with us. Batalon’s poster comes with another photo and the following note:

“We’re so excited to share the TITLE of our new movie!! Swipe right for the big reveal!!🤩😝😱also enjoy this exclusive still from the movie, just an extra gift from us😘”

Fans are pretty stoked about this movie because of how it is going to be playing around in the multiverse. On top of Benedict Cumberbatch being a part of the film as Doctor Strange, it’s also been announced that Alfred Molina will be back as Doctor Octopus and Jamie Foxx is coming back as Electro. There are also reports that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will be back as their versions of Spider-Man. Tom Holland has denied those reports, but we’ll see.

It’s also been rumored that Kirsten Dunst will return as Mary Jane Watson, Emma Stone could reprise her role as Gwen Stacy, and that Charlie Cox might appear as Daredevil.

Spider-Man 3 is being directed by Jon Watts, and it also stars Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, and Tony Revolori. It’s also confirmed that the film will tie into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Spider-Man: Phone Home is currently set to be released on December 17th, 2021.
