THE VENTURE BROS. May Be Revived Thanks to HBO Max!
A couple of months ago we learned that Adult Swim’s The Venture Bros. was being canceled. I’ve been a huge fan of this adventure series, and I was super bummed to hear that we might not ever see any new episodes again.
Adult Swim said they were going to look for another way to continue the story of these characters, but now it’s looking like the series could be revived on HBO Max. It’s something that the streaming service is definitely considering!
The update comes tom the head of HBO Max, Andy Forssell, and in a tweet he sent out, he says he’s working on it.
"The Venture Bros fans are passionate, but incredibly civil. I've received tons of emails, all of which are short very well written notes, oozing with politeness. Class fans. Nothing imminent, but know that we're working on it.”
That’s pretty damn cool, and it’s an update that fans have been hoping to hear. Now, we just have to continue hoping that these plans to revive The Venture Bros. on HBO Max pan out. Obviously, the show's co-creators were would be stoked continue the series! They were just as sad as the fans were when the show got canceled. Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer have offered a few statements in the wake of their show's cancellation. Shortly after news got out regarding the cancellation, Publick said:
“Unfortunately, it’s true: #VentureBros has been canceled. We got the highly disappointing news a few months ago, while we were writing what would have been season 8. We thank you, our amazing fans, for 17 years of your kind (and patient) attention. And, as always, We Love You.
"I am proud that we made something almost entirely on our terms and it worked. I didn't know how much we would mean to a lot of people, and to know that that's from just spilling your guts and trying your hardest to make the thing as good by your standards as possible... means a lot."
Now, all we can do is patiently wait to see if The Venture Bros. ends up on HBO Max.
