THE WALKING DEAD Boss Says He'd Love to Do an "ENDGAME-Style" Crossover Event With the Spinoff Shows
Scott M. Gimple has been on board AMC’s hit drama series The Walking Dead since it began back in 2010. The flagship show ran for eleven seasons, and its previous spinoffs that have already concluded include Fear The Walking Dead, World Beyond, and Tales of The Walking Dead. Current and upcoming spinoffs include the highly anticipated The Ones Who Live, which will finally reunite Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira); Daryl Dixon, which is returning for season 2 with the subtitle The Book of Carol; Dead City featuring Negan and Maggie; and More Tales From the Walking Dead Universe has also been announced.
Gimple has been able to make this job last beyond the end of the original show, and he says that if he has it his way, he’d love to reunite the original castmates in a major crossover event.
Gimple explained to TV Line:
"So when it comes to something like [an Avengers: Endgame-style, all-series crossover event], yeah, I do have dreams of merging this all together, and I have laid little breadcrumbs toward that, but you never know exactly when and how [it will come together], because of a variety of reasons. Dead City is a vibrant show, Daryl [Dixon] is a vibrant show, this one [The Ones Who Live] is… I will just say that I'm building those pathways, but there could be all sorts of pivots along the way that change it. So I guess answer is yes…?"
We will just have to wait and see how these individual stories play out, and whether a crossover could come to fruition, and while we wait, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is heading our way, kicking off on AMC and AMC+ on February 25th.
