THE WALKING DEAD Is Coming to MAGIC: THE GATHERING in a New Secret Lair
Here’s a crossover that I wasn’t expecting. Wizards of the Coast has recently announced a partnership with AMC to bring The Walking Dead to Magic: The Gathering. The crossover will occur via a Secret Lair drop that will launch on October 4. This coincides with the We Are The Walking Dead Weekend on AMC featuring the premiere of The Walking Dead: World Beyond and a special episode of Talking Dead. During Talking Dead (11 PM ET), fans will be able to enjoy an unboxing and card preview.
Fans who want to get their hands on the Secret Lair set will be able pre-order the cards between October 4-12. Pre-orders will go live at 11:30 PM ET for $49.99. The cards will be completely new and feature iconic characters from the hit TV series. The cards will only be legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage formats as they’ll have different text from other cards (not sure how) and unique gameplay. Clayton Neuman of AMC said:
