THE WALKING DEAD Star Josh McDermitt Joins Stephen Amell in SUITS: LA
Suits: LA has added a new cast member… The Walking Dead star Josh McDermitt is set to star in the spin-off alongside the previously announced Arrow star Stephen Amell. McDermitt played Eugene Porter in The Walking Dead Series.
In Suits: LA, McDermitt will play a character named Stuart Lane, who is described as an energetic, powerful and self-absorbed person, who co-founded Black Lane Law. This seems like a role that will fit the actor well.
The new series sees Amell take on the role of Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who built an L.A. law firm, Black Lane Law, specializing in criminal and entertainment law. “His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”
The series is being executive produced by David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein and Victoria Mahoney with Mahoney set to direct the pilot.
When previously talking about the new series, president of Universal International Studios and UCP, Beatrice Springborn, said the show will be set “in the same timeframe” as the flagship series. She also promised it will “have the same energy and good looking people that the original did.”
