THE WITCHER 3 is Getting a Free Next-Gen Update and Additional Content Next Month
The Witcher has become a very popular franchise. If you enjoy The Witcher 3, you’ll be happy to hear that CD Projekt Red has officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S is releasing next month. This is a version of the popular RPG with “dozens of visual, performance, and technical enhancements over the original.” Fans will notice ray tracing, faster loading times on console, “as well as a variety of mods integrated into the experience, among many other [improvements].” That’s already very exciting to hear.
In addition, this version of The Witcher 3 will come with additional content inspired by the hit Netflix series starring Henry Cavill, The Witcher. It will also come with all free DLCs released so far and both the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions. All of the improvements and additional content will be covered next week when CD Projekt Red hosts a dedicated REDstreams event on Twitch.
If you have already purchased the game on PC, PS4, or Xbox One, you’ll be ecstatic to hear that the next-gen update will be available to you for free! Also, anyone who owns the game on Nintendo Switch, PS4, or Xbox One can also look forward to an update coming soon with “numerous additions and improvements, as well as the Netflix Witcher-themed additional content.” More details are on their way. If you love physical games, a physical version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition will be released at a later time.
I have yet to play The Witcher 3, but this sounds like a fantastic chance to jump in and try it. If you’ve already played the game a ton, it sounds like this will be a great time to revisit the game and Geralt. You can enjoy the next-gen release on consoles and PC on December 14!
