The Writers of DEADPOOL and ZOMBIELAND Are Thinking a Crossover Film Would Totally Work

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are the writers behind both the Zombieland films and the Deadpool films. Each of these franchises are hugely popular and hilarious, and the writers seem to think there is room for a crossover film between the two. The pair were in attendance at L.A. Comic-Con recently to promote their sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap, in theaters this Friday.

Reese and Wernick commented on the idea of a crossover, both at the convention and in recent tweets. They seem to believe that the Merc With a Mouth would fit right in with the quick wit of the Zombieland ensemble. Here’s what the tweet said:

The films have long been mentioned together, as the writers caught some flack for waiting ten years to make a Zombieland sequel while making the two Deadpool films instead. I’m just glad we are finally getting the sequel we have been waiting for. And while I would love to see the hilarious actors that fill both movies all together, I don’t know exactly what a mashup of the two films would look like. I’m not sure how they’d make it work, but if they are saying they know how to make it happen, I trust them completely!

Would you like to see a Deadpool/Zombieland crossover film? What do you think that would look like?
