The Writers of INFINITY WAR Reveal When The Infinity Gauntlet Was Forged
For those of you who have been wondering when exactly Eitri the Dwarf King (Peter Dinklage) forged Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet in Avengers: Infinity War, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have an answer for you. While talking to Collider they offered the following info:
“I think the Gauntlet was made when Loki was pretending to be Odin. Presumably, Eitri was running a relatively regular business and people would have gone there and said something. So, it hasn’t been that long.”
I'm sure you all remember that was right after Avengers: Age of Ultron. Damn, when Thanos figured out what exactly he wanted to do he just raced into action and pushed it through as fast as he could. Thanos didn't waste any time.
Eitri the Dwarf King made the Gauntlet for Thanos in hopes that he’d spare the lives of the dwarves living on Nidavellir. As we learned in the film, though, Thanos slaughtered all of the dwarves and turned Eitri’s hands to Iron after the Gauntlet was finished.
I loved how Dinklage portrayed Eitri in the film and I know that we'll probably never see him again, but it would be great if we did. Personally, I wish he would have shown up with Thor, Rocket, and Groot to help fight during the Battle of Wakanda! They could've used a giant dwarf to smash some bad guys with his iron hands!
