The Year of Naruto Will Launch at NYCC Next Month to Celebrate 20 Years of NARUTO
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Naruto and as such, VIZ Media wants to celebrate big. They plan to launch the Year of Naruto at New York Comic Con 2019 which will take place in roughly one month. At NYCC, VIZ will unveil limited edition manga-inspired products including an official Naruto skateboard deck from Hypland and an exclusive poster that has hologram details of Naruto in his different stages from ninja-in-training to Hokage.
The Year of Naruto will continue in 2020 with more events and products that VIZ has not announced yet, but are said to include video games, special live programming, product activations, collaborations with lifestyle brands, and more. Brad Woods from VIZ released the following statement:
“The YEAR OF NARUTO is a fitting tribute to a global marquee brand and an important international ambassador for Japanese pop culture. Join us as we celebrate our favorite ninja with special collaborations, new officially licensed merchandise and events in the coming year!”
