Nickelodeon and Paramount are planning for the future with two new movies in the works. It was announced that a new Spongebob Squarepants movie will be released on May 23, 2025 while a new Avatar Aang movie will release on October 10, 2025.

Nothing else is known about these projects at this time. This will be the fourth Spongebob movie with past movies faring well at the box office. Fans will be very excited to see a new animated adventure starring Avatar Aang. I'm interested to see what they have planned for it. They might choose to turn to the comics for story elements, or make something entirely new.

I personally feel like a different character would make a better movie focus, perhaps a movie about Zuko searching for his mom or an Avatar Kyoshi movie would be cool. Both of those characters have comics and/or books, but I think it would be great to see their stories brought to life in animation.
