There Are a Few E.T. Easter Eggs in JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM That You May Have Missed
Turns out there were a few E.T. Easter eggs that were thrown into Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom by director A.J. Bayona. I didn't notice any of these while watching the movie, but now that the director has pointed out these Easter eggs, they're pretty obvious.
The first E.T. Easter egg that is pointed out is the red hoodie that the little girl Maisie is wearing. That is the same style hoodie that Elliot wore in E.T. and in regards to that Bayona says, "That’s very Amblin, very Spielbergian."
He goes on to point out that there's an E.T. toy in Maisie's room during the big fight scene.
"In the dinosaur fight in Maisie’s room, there’s a lot of toys. And if you take a look at the toys, you will see there’s an E.T. character there. You try to have fun, but at the same time you try to integrate that nostalgia into the story you’re telling."
Then one of the more interesting tributes to E.T. is the point where they show the neighborhood where E.T. was actually shot back in the 80s. He revealed the scene where that takes place, saying:
"You see Blue, and Blue is on top of this hill. And what you see is the same neighborhood where they shot E.T."
When talking about why he included these references, he said:
"I think it’s great when you can make a connection with the other films because we have very emotional relations with these movies. We saw them when we were very young or when we were kids."
Did you catch any of these Easter eggs when you first watched the movie?
