There Are "Lots of Conversations Happening" Regarding a Sequel to James Wan's MALIGNANT

It’s looking like there’s a good chance that we might get a sequel to James Wan’s crazy-ass horror movie Malignant. The first film was met with mixed reactions, but I personally loved it. I think audiences either got the film and understood what Wan was doing with it, or they didn’t.

The movie certainly has an incredibly unique concept and a wildly insane twist at the end. The big reveal came when we learn that Annabelle Wallis’s character Madison/Emily shares a body with deranged entity known as Gabriel who is on a rampage of murderous revenge.

During an interview with ScreenRant, Wallis was asked if she was involved with any conversations about a possible sequel for the movie and this is what she said:

"We have. There's plenty of ideas swirling around. We were very, very flattered by the reception and I think taken aback by the reception. So yeah, there's lots of conversations happening."

These conversations will most likely lead to Malignant 2 being greenlit by Warner Bros. If a sequel does happen, I really hope that they take the concept even farther, lean into it even more, and take things to a new level of weird and crazy.

As for where the story can go, there are lots of possibilities and directions. What would you like to see happen in a sequel?
