There Are Rumors of a Possible HAWKEYE Solo Movie From Marvel and it Could Be a Different Incarnation of the Character

While we wait for Marvel Studios to officially announce what the next phase of Marvel movies will be, we have a new rumor to share with you, and I'm sure it will be followed by many other rumors over the course of the next year.

According to MCU Cosmic, who is the same outlet that originally reported that Marvel was developing a feature film adaptation of The Eternals, the studio is also developing a solo Hawkeye movie. They say:

"Back when I was first told of The Eternals, from the exact same source, I was also told that Marvel had ideas for a couple of other characters far into the future. These were not solidified plans, and in no way on any kind of schedule. If they were to happen, it wouldn’t be until well after 2022.
"But what I was told was that Marvel has ideas for a couple of different characters to do some kind of solo film in the future. One of these characters was Hawkeye."

During the recent Produced By 2018 conference, Feige said a few things about the future of the MCU that were compiled on Reddit. He said he's looking to "continue stories of characters you’re familiar with". Those will include "different incarnations of characters you know" along with the introduction of "completely new characters you never heard of before (unless ur a comics fan)."

It's here that things get even more interesting. Feige's comments of there being "different incarnations of characters". According to the report, this statement coincides with what they were told about the Hawkeye movie. They go on to say:

"I won’t say anymore because, again, it’s not something that is likely to happen for a long time if at all, but it’s definitely something that is on Marvel Studios’ radar."

That's pretty cool! Now, this could mean a few different things. We know that Hawkeye will most likely become Ronin in Avengers 4 so that would certainly be a different incarnation of the character. But, they could also introduce the character Kate Bishop who could take over the mantle of Hawkeye as well, which would give the studio another female lead to build a franchise around.

It will be interesting to see if anything comes of this. If there is some truth behind it, what would you like to see from a solo Hawkeye movie?
