There is One Real Live-Action Shot in THE LION KING

The Lion King recently got a photorealistic CG remake that did not sit well with critics. Well, while many of us still sit here and question why people keep calling it a “live-action” film, Jon Favreau has shared a single shot from the film that was not computer generated. It turns out that the director put a single shot of real photography at the very beginning. Did you notice this shot when you saw the film?

This is the only real shot in #TheLionKing. There are 1490 rendered shots created by animators and CG artists. I slipped in one single shot that we actually photographed in Africa to see if anyone would notice. It is the first shot of the movie that begins The Circle of Life.
