There Will Be 7 Marvel Films Released Before DC's Next Film
There's a saying that goes "quality over quantity," although it's tough to say how that applies to the news I'm about to tell you. As ScreenRant reports, before Aquaman releases in December of 2018, there will be seven Marvel films that release between them. For those curious, they are:
- Deadpool 2
- Black Panther
- The New Mutants
- Ant-Man 2
- Avengers: Infinity War
- X-Men: Dark Phoenix
- Venom
What's the point? Well, beyond the fact that, thanks to Marvel, we have yet another loaded year of Superhero titles to look forward to, DC is only going to keep struggling to keep up with their competitor. Considering Justice League was supposed to be their tentpole for launching off a ton of other franchises, this is some poor planning on their part. What's worse is that even IF Justice League was kicking ass at the box-office right now, DC still planned to capitalize on that success over a year later with a second film.
As much as I love to give DC the benefit of the doubt, they're far removed from the days where the Dark Knight trilogy reigned supreme at the box office. If they continue on the path they're on now, it looks as though it'll be a long time before their cinematic universe is ever that good again.
