There's a Four Hour Cut of Mel Gibson's BRAVEHEART and I Need to See It!
Mel Gibson's Braveheart is one of my favorite films of all time. I saw that movie about 15 times while it was in theaters back in 1995. I just couldn't get enough of it! It's one of those films that I can watch over and over again, and I never get tired of it. It's just such an epically badass film that tells a beautiful story.
The theatrical cut of the film is three hours long, and I just learned from an interview with Gibson at Collider that there is an hour of never-before-seen footage and a 3 hour 45 minute cut of the film that's laying around somewhere.
Gibson was asked if anyone ever approached him about releasing a special edition director's cut with all of these extra scenes and if he would consider it. He told the site, “People have mentioned it. It’s a big deal.”
He proceeded to say that he'd be willing to do it if the studio wanted to pay for it. The movie was produced by Paramount Pictures, and this is something that they really need to jump on doing ASAP! I need to see this extended cut of the film! I want to see all the additional footage! Someone bring all of this to light and make it available!
