There's a New BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Series Coming From MR. ROBOT Creator Sam Esmail

I’ve got some exciting new for all you Battlestar Galactica fans as the creator of Mr. Robot, Sam Esmail, is set to reboot the sci-fi series. The new version of the show is being billed as “an original series.”

I’m a huge fan of both the original 1978 series and the 2004 reboot. There are no details on what Esmail is planning for the series, but I love what he did with Mr. Robot, and I’m excited and curious to see what he is planning for this new vision of Battlestar Galactica.

According to Deadline, Esmail reached out to Ronald D. Moore to talk to him about the series, and Moore gave him his blessing “because of Esmail’s passion for Moore’s version of the show.”

Battlestar Galactica was created by Glen A. Larson, and the plot centered on “the last group of humans on the verge of extinction after a series of wars with a robot race, The Cylons, destroyed the Twelve Colonies. All the humans are left in one remaining battleship group, anchored by the Galactica, as they search for their last option for survival: a fabled Thirteenth Colony known as Earth.”

The series will air on NBCUniversal’s new streaming service, which is being called Peacock. What do you all think about Sam Esmail creating a new Battlestar Galactica series? What do you hope to see from it?

With the great way that TV series are being produced these days, I have high hopes for this show. It very well could end up being awesome!
